Gundog Scurry 2019

The scurries are open from 10am - 3.30pm each day.

Organised by Helen Crick and her team with all proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity

The scurries are open to gundogs of all abilities and are a great way to have some fun with your dog. If you’ve never had a go on a gundog scurry before then we have a great team of helpful and friendly volunteers, who will be only too happy to help.

There are three have-a-go events at The Lancashire Game Fair plus a special scurry. The competitions are open to gundog breeds only, but you can have a go for fun with any breed of dog. Prizes and rosettes awarded each day. There's also a junior event on the Hose Run, which is open to young people under 16.

Scurries are open from 10am until 3.30pm and cost £2 per go, which is payable on the day. The special scurry costs £10 and juniors are £1.

Hose Run
A dummy will be thrown at a distance to shot and the dog needs to retrieve the dummy in the fastest time to win. There will also be a junior competition on this event

The ladder
This is single dummy retrieve. There will be a series of bale jumps, which the dog needs to jump over to get the dummy.

Tally Board
Five dummies will be used in this event, some will be thrown, which are seen by the dog and some will be hidden without the dog knowing where they are. The dog and handler need to work together on this one and retrieve all five in the quickest time to win. Don’t worry, the clock stops in between retrieves

The Firefighter Charity Special Scurry
This event is being kept a secret until the weekend of the game fair, but promises to be something a bit different, which will hopefully push the most experienced dogs and handlers.
